Bodhgaya

Bodhgaya (Hindi for 'Place of enlightment') is for Buddhists one of the most important pilgrimage places. As we arrived, early in the morning, there were hundreds of pilgrims from Nepal, China, Thailand, Vietnam and and and... We visited the big main temple of the buddhism, were Lord Buddha many many years ago his enlightment under a tree found while he was meditating. The spirit at this special place was breathtaking! It doesn't fellt like we are still in India. It was more like a timetravel to the ancient Nepal. Another highlight was the 80 feet hight Buddha statue. We thought Hyderabad has a big one, but this one here at Bodhgaya definitely beat the other one :-D
For me, the most beautiful temple was the Thai Buddha temple (every asian country has its own temple here). As you can see on picture 7 and 8, this temple was made with a lot of love. You can see the silver shining from far away. Its very very beautiful.
Because of so many pilgrims, our next train to Vasanasi was cancelled. Thats why we visited the archaeological museum of Buddha and spent another night at Bodhgaya, before we get on our bus the next morning.

Bodhgaya (Hindi für 'Ort der Erleuchtung) ist für Buddhisten einer der wichtigsten Pilgerstätten. Als wir früh am morgen ankamen, waren hunderte Pilger aus Nepal, China, Thailand, Vietnam und und und dort. Wir besuchten den grossen Haupttempel des Buddhismus, wo Gott Buddha viele viele Jahre zuvor seine erleuchtung gefunden hat, während er unter einem Baum meditierte. Der spirituelle Geist an diesem Ort was atemberaubend! Es fühlte sich nicht an, dass wir immernoch in Indien sind. Es war mehr wie eine Zeitreise ins alte Nepal. Ein weiterer Höhepunkt war die 24 meter hohe Buddhastatue. Wir dachten Hyderabad hat eine grosse Statue, aber diese hier in Bodhgaya schlägt die andere definitiv :-D
Für mich war der schönste Tempel der Thai Buddhatempel (jedes asiatische Land hat seinen eigenen Tempel hier). Wie ihr auf dem Bild 7 und 8 sehen könnt, wurde dieser Tempel mit sehr viel Liebe gemacht. Man kann den silbernen Glanz schon von ganz weit weg sehen. Es ist wirklich sehr sehr schön!
Wegen diesen sehr vielen Pilgern fiel unser nächster Zug nach Varanasi aus. Darum besuchten wir noch das Archäologische Buddha Museum und blieben eine weitere Nacht in Bodhgaya, bevor wir am nächsten morgen auf den Bus gingen.
